Highlights of Our Fourth Year
Our ability to grow and thrive is dependent on faithful donors like you. These highlights are a reality because of your investment.
We have eleven staff, including two new experienced teachers. We have seven full-time and four part-time staff for the 2019-2020 school year. Our newest staff person is assisting both in the kindergarten class and as a trained and experienced social worker. She will be a valuable resource for all of our families.
We have a new first-grade classroom, thanks to Adam Labs and Ben Lewis and a number of volunteers who gave of their time and resources to help create a great learning space.
We have implemented the MAP testing tool. This is a computerized adaptive test that measures academic performance. This helps teachers, parents, and administrators improve learning for all students and make informed decisions to promote students’ academic growth. In addition, MAP test results provide us with valuable information on how our students are performing as compared to others across the national, state, and locally.
We have partnered with the Joshua Group and are serving four of their students in 2019-2020. The Joshua Group has been serving Harrisburg for over 20 years with education programs that include preschool, after school and summer programs, and the Joshua Group Scholarship program.
We have bus transportation through the Harrisburg School District this academic year.
We have partnered once again with the Pennsylvania Food Bank to provide breakfast and lunch for our students.
We have taken the next steps in our affiliation with Logos Academy (York, PA) and expect to continue to strengthen that partnership so that we consistently reflect the quality program for which Logos is known.
